It is relaxed: visit, see Samui, and get in about 2 hours of training a day with an old-school ninja guide. Not crazy serious like the camps of the old days. Rick teaches at least 2 classes a week, and a NinjaGym Guide takes the rest.

A live-in martial arts program at Rick Tew's NinjaGym in Koh Samui. It teaches a genuine, structured ninja skill set, stances, rolls, falls, strikes, kicks, self-defense, Ninja Tools, and mental focus, wrapped in a deliberately silly delivery. The art is Rick's own system, Modern American Ninjitsu (most people spell it ninjutsu). The training is legit. The vibe is fun.

Do I need experience?
No. It is built for beginners. Trained before? Welcome too. Everyone trains at their level. Not a fight camp. No sparring unless you ask.
When can I start?
Any day: classes run all year, Monday to Friday. The next group starts Friday 22 January 2027. At checkout you add your arrival date.
Who teaches the classes?
Rick and a NinjaGym Guide take turns. Rick teaches at least 2 classes a week, and a Guide takes the rest.
What if I am not a morning person?
No worries. Just show up to the evening review sessions, where we go over what we did that morning. Mr. Tew rotates teaching mornings and evenings, so both types get at least 2 classes a week with Mr. Tew.
Got an injury, or not very fit?
Tell me before you come. Every drill has an easier version, and the Guide keeps it at your level.
Can I bring my family or kids?
The live-in program stays in hostel-style bunks built for solo travelers, so it is not set up for families to lodge together. You are welcome to book your own accommodation nearby, and the kids can train at our NinjaGym Kids center while you are in the program.

Already have a place on Samui?
Skipping the dorm does not change the price. You arrange your own room nearby and keep everything else in the program, plus a private 1-on-1 meetup and chat with Rick.
